The entry
Each asset, identified in a way that survives being moved or renamed.
The part
What it is
Identity is harder than it looks. Serial numbers work for equipment and not for a customer database; a stable internal identifier solves both.
The description should say what the asset does rather than what it is called, because names drift and functions do not.
The smallest level
The attributes it carries
Each attribute is one of the framework’s shared types. What a date is, and how it is written, is defined once for the whole model — the note here says what it means in this particular place.
Asset identifier
A stable internal reference, since names and serial numbers both fail in different ways.
