The failure behaviour
How the asset actually fails — with wear, randomly, or with warning.
The part
What it is
Assets that fail randomly gain nothing from time-based maintenance, and intervening on them can introduce faults that would not otherwise occur.
Whether failure gives warning is the field that determines whether condition monitoring is possible at all.

The attributes it carries
Each attribute is one of the framework’s shared types. What a date is, and how it is written, is defined once for the whole model — the note here says what it means in this particular place.
Warning period
How long between the first sign and failure, which sets the inspection interval.
Duration shared type
The other elements in the maintenance regime
The consequence
What failure would actually cost.
