The nodes

Each location where goods are held or handled.

The part

What it is

Nodes include facilities you do not own — third-party warehouses, consolidation points, partner locations — which are frequently missing from the picture.

Each node has a fixed cost that exists whether or not it is used efficiently, which is what makes the count a strategic decision.

The smallest level

The attributes it carries

Each attribute is one of the framework’s shared types. What a date is, and how it is written, is defined once for the whole model — the note here says what it means in this particular place.
