What it is
An artefact nobody can find has not been produced. Location is the attribute that closes the gap between something existing and something being available.
It connects directly to the folder structure: a component with a location field is a component somebody can actually retrieve.
How it is recorded
A path, a link or a physical address, specific enough to reach without asking.
