The reorder point
The level at which a replenishment order is placed.
The part
What it is
Expected demand over the lead time plus safety stock. Simple arithmetic that fails when the lead time used is the quoted one rather than the measured one.
Order quantity is a separate decision, driven by ordering cost, holding cost and minimum order constraints.
