The part
What it is
A checkpoint is defined by what it resolves, not by where it falls in the calendar. Naming the uncertainty is what justifies the date.
Two or three across a quarter is usually enough. More than that and each stops carrying a real decision.
The smallest level
The attributes it carries
Each attribute is one of the framework’s shared types. What a date is, and how it is written, is defined once for the whole model — the note here says what it means in this particular place.
