The dependencies

What has to happen before what — mapped before durations, since the order matters more than the estimates.

The deliverable

What it is

Many dependencies are conventional rather than real. Things are done in a familiar order because they always have been, and the order is not required.

Questioning each one produces parallel paths and shortens the project without any additional effort.

Two or three dependencies in every project exist only from habit. Challenging them is free.
