The constraint

The resource that actually limits total output.

The part

What it is

There is one, and identifying it is usually straightforward: it is where work queues and where everything else waits.

The constraint moves when it is relieved, which is why it needs re-identifying after any capacity change rather than assumed to be permanent.

The smallest level

The attributes it carries

Each attribute is one of the framework’s shared types. What a date is, and how it is written, is defined once for the whole model — the note here says what it means in this particular place.
