The gaps
Questions that cannot be answered with current instrumentation — kept so the next change to the system can close one.
The deliverable
What it is
Every organisation has questions it cannot answer. Recording them turns a recurring frustration into a backlog that can be worked through as other changes are made.
The cheapest time to close a gap is while the relevant system is being changed for another reason, which is why the list needs to exist before that moment.

Instrumentation added during other work costs a fraction of instrumentation added as its own project.

The tracking plan
What is captured, where, with which fields — without which instrumentation is discovered by reading code.
LearnThe joins
Whether captured data can be connected to a person, account or session — which determines most of what analysis is possible.
