The workarounds

What people do instead of the intended path — each one a design problem they have already solved.

The deliverable

What it is

Users invent workarounds when the intended path does not fit. Each workaround is a solved design problem waiting to be read.

They are frequently treated as misuse, which loses the information entirely. The user is not doing it wrong; the design does not fit what they need.
