The decision record

What was decided, on what evidence, and what the panel was uncertain about — kept because it is useful long after the hire.

The deliverable

What it is

A hiring decision is a prediction. Without a record of what was predicted, the organisation never learns whether its assessment works.

The reservations are the most valuable part. They tell the new manager where to pay attention, and they are the first thing to check when a hire does not work out.

Pass the panel’s reservations to the hiring manager. They are an onboarding plan, not a reason to have declined.
