What it is

Voluntary and involuntary departures are different phenomena and mixing them makes the number uninterpretable.

Tenure at departure is the most informative single field: leaving at four months and at four years say opposite things.

Each attribute is one of the framework’s shared types. What a date is, and how it is written, is defined once for the whole model — the note here says what it means in this particular place.

Leaver
Held for analysis and access-control purposes, with the usual retention limits.
Person shared type
Tenure at leaving
Early departures indicate selection or onboarding; late ones indicate progression.
Duration shared type
Voluntary or not
Mixing the two produces a number that cannot be acted on.
