Resistance log
The objections raised to a change, where they came from, and what each one turned out to be pointing at.
The deliverable
What it is
Resistance is information about the change and about the people it affects. Treated as an obstacle to push through, it goes quiet and returns as low adoption; treated as information, it often shows where the design is weak.
The log separates two acts. Recording an objection is done as it arrives, without judgement. Reading it — deciding what it points to — is done afterwards, and the two are kept apart so that the reading does not filter what gets recorded.
