Reinforcement register

The mechanisms that hold a change in place after the programme ends, and the old ways of working that were deliberately retired.

The deliverable

What it is

Lewin’s refreezing is the step most programmes leave to chance. The team disbands, attention moves to the next priority, and the old way of working returns under the first period of pressure.

The register lists the concrete mechanisms that stand in the way of that. It covers measures, systems and routines; embedding the change in shared norms is Culture’s work in the Vision Core, and the register points there instead of repeating it.

Close the old path where you can. Every alternative left open is a route back under pressure.
